2010 Wolf Challenge Moving to INDY
Price, Singh, Weekley join Zoeller's fundraiser

Fuzzy Zoeller tees it up with Nick Price, Vijay Singh and Boo Weekley on Aug. 16 at Brickyard Crossing Golf Club, the emphasis will be on fun. Weekley knows.

"I told Fuzzy last year that I was coming back even if I had to buy a ticket to get in," Weekley said. "Fuzzy knows how to put on a party and the wolf format is a lot of fun to play."

After a 13-year run at Zoeller's Covered Bridge Golf Club in Sellersburg, Ind., that raised more than $1.5 million for youth charities, the Magnolia Health Systems Wolf Challenge is moving to the Brickyard.

Twenty Champions Tour players and celebrities will be paired with four-member amateur teams Sunday, Aug. 15. Then Zoeller, Price, Singh and Weekley will play "wolf" on Monday. Each player will wear a microphone.

Zoeller is a New Albany, Ind., native who won the 1979 Masters and the 1984 U.S. Open. Singh is a past winner of the Masters and the PGA Championship, and Price counts the British Open and two PGAs among his credits. Price and Singh are members of the World Golf Hall of Fame.

Weekley is a down-home, fun-loving country boy from Milton, Fla., who has won twice on the PGA Tour.

"Wolf" features rotating captains. A captain has the option of picking one or two partners after watching their tee shots on each hole or going "lone wolf" and playing his ball against the best ball of the other three players. Like a "skins" game, each hole has a dollar value that carries over to the next hole in the event of a tie. "You have a new game on every hole," Zoeller said. "There's a lot of banter on every tee as teams are being made, and let's just say there's a lot of ribbing that goes on."

The list of celebrities for the Sunday "shamble," a modification of the scramble format, is not yet available, but Bill Murray, Kevin Costner, Vince Gill and George Brett have participated in the past.

Tickets are $25 for one day, $40 for both days and are available at www.fuz.com or (317) 876-3338. Sales will be limited. Children ages 13 and under will be admitted free when accompanied by an adult. BUY ON LINE NOW

Spots remain available for an amateur "shamble" tournament Saturday, Aug. 14. The entry fee is $1,000 per foursome. Zoeller and other celebrities will attend. Call (877) 389-9653.

The date for this year's event is August 14th – 16th.

August will be here before we know it, and we hope Indianapolis and Kentuckiana golf fans join us for “The Last Bash of the Summer in Indy,” said Zoeller.
